HYDERABAD, Jun 07 (APP): The people of Hyderabad celebrated Eidul Azha like other parts of the country on Saturday by sacrificing the sheep, goats and cows etc after Eidul Azha prayers. The Eid prayers were offered at more than 1,200 mosques, Eidgahs and Imambargahs.
The district police spokesman Awais Rajput informed that more than 1,700 cops were deployed for security of the Eid congregations. The large congregations took place at around 115 Eidgahs, mosques and Imambargahs with the largest of all congregations to be organized at Eidgah behind Rani Bagh in Qasimabad.
The Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon offered Eid Namaz at the Rawal House.
Talking to the media on the occasion he extended Eid greetings to all Muslims Ummah and to Pakistanis in particular.
He prayed for the people of Gaza, martyrs of Pakistan’s armed forces and those of his political party.
The spokesman told that DSPs and SHOs were deployed at 23 important places to head the security arrangements.
He told that the police were deployed at the recreational places in addition to the sacrificial animal markets.
The spokesman said police pickets were set up near the animal markets to provide security to the traders as well as to the buyers of animals.
Meanwhile, the staff of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) and the contractor of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) have announced their preparedness to collect and dispose off the animal offals.
The two organizations have also provided contact numbers to the citizens to lodge their complaints pertaining to the disposal. The exercise of collecting offals started from the morning.
