Provision of quality transport to residents of Karachi, govt’s op priority: PM

ISLAMABAD, June 04 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that providing top-notch transport facilities to the people of Karachi through the Green Line project was among the top priorities of the federal government.

He said work on the Karachi-4 (K-4) project would be expedited while instructions had already been issued to accelerate work on the Karachi-Hyderabad package as well.

A delegation of MQM led by Convenor Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui called on the prime minister. The delegation included Minister for National Health Syed Mustafa Kamal, Members of the National Assembly Amin-ul-Haque, Dr. Farooq Sattar, and Javed Hanif, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

The prime minister consulted the MQM delegation regarding the federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026.

The delegation presented its proposals concerning the budget.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar,Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Minister for Public Affairs Unit Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs and Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Talha Burki.
