Regional Drama Festival promotes social reform through theater performance

RAWALPINDI, Jun 03 (APP): The ongoing Regional Drama Festival, organized by the Punjab Arts Council (PAC), Rawalpindi has become an exclusive platform for social reform, offering quality entertainment while addressing societal issues.
This was expressed by Muhammad Shakoor, Director PAC while addressing the closing ceremony of the play Balkarrah.
The drama, written and directed by renowned artist Arshad Mihnas, highlighted transgenders’ rights including their equal place and role in society.
The play featured powerful performances by renowned actors including Arshad Mihnas, Maryam, Mastana, Ali Janjua, Ali Sher, Adil Alvi, Hameedullah Khan, and Afzal Latifi.
The event drew a diverse audience which appreciated the initiative for providing free, culturally enriching entertainment.
The Director PAC extended gratitude to Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Madam Azma Bukhari for promoting such cultural activities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
He also assured PAC Rawalpindi’s continued support in cultural promoting while organizing social and cultural events.
