ISLAMABAD, Jun 02 (APP):A high level meeting regarding the organization of the 14th South Asian Games was chaired by Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah here on Monday.
The Pakistan Olympic Association has submitted its recommendations to the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination for the Games, scheduled to take place in Pakistan in January 2026.
Sanaullah, who also holds the portfolio of the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, has formed a high-level committee to review and implement these recommendations.
The committee, chaired by the Secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination, will include representatives from all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
It will submit suggestions to the government on key aspects such as sports venues, security, and other logistical issues.
The event will feature 27 sports, and the Punjab government has agreed to host the mega event.
Sanaullah emphasized that hosting the South Asian Games will highlight Pakistan’s positive image. He noted that successfully hosting major international events like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, Champions Trophy, and now the South Asian Games is a proof of Pakistan’s security capabilities.
