Livestock Deptt takes effective steps for safety of animals

RAWALPINDI, May 29 (APP):Like rest of the province, the Livestock Department Rawalpindi has taken effective steps for the convenience of public and safety of animals in the wake of approaching Eid-ul-Azha.

Special veterinary camps had been set up at all the cattle markets in the district for free of charge diagnosis and treatment of ailing animals, a Livestock Department spokesman said.

He further said that arrangements were also in place for spray of anti-mosquitoes and gadflies at the entry points of the cattle markets.

The department, he said, was also holding seminars to make the public, particularly butchers, aware how to store animal hides.
