Open House and Job Fair connects talent with opportunity at CUI, Wah Campus

ISLAMABAD, May 29 (APP):COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus Thursday hosted an impressive Open House and Job Fair on Thursday, bringing together academia and industry to showcase the skills and innovation of its graduating students from the Spring Semester 2025.
The event saw the participation of 303 final-year students from the Departments of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Management Sciences, who presented 125 Final Year Projects (FYPs).
These projects highlighted the students’ academic achievements, hands-on expertise, and readiness to contribute meaningfully to the professional world.
Over 85 reputed companies from diverse sectors took part in the event, evaluating student projects, conducting interviews, and shortlisting candidates for internships and job placements.
The event served as a dynamic platform for graduates to engage directly with potential employers and explore career opportunities.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Prof. Dr. Ehsan Ullah Munir, along with Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhatti, In-Charge of the Career Development Center (CDC), who briefed the audience on the CDC’s pivotal role in career facilitation and highlighted the significance of the Open House and Job Fair in bridging the gap between academia and industry.
Inspirational talks were delivered by CUI Wah alumni, including Mr. Muhammad Rafay Hassan Khan from the Department of Management Sciences and Mr. Muhammad Talah from the Department of Computer Science.
Both speakers shared insights from their professional journeys and encouraged students to make the most of the opportunities presented at the event. Mr. Talah also expressed interest in future research collaborations with CUI faculty to enhance global employability for graduates.
The occasion was honored by chief guest Engr. Dr. Ajaz Bashir Janjua from Pakistan Ordinance Factories and a member of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), who spoke about PEC’s fully funded internship programs and advocated for continuous curriculum enhancement through industry-academia synergy.
Brig (R) Abdul Naeem Bhatti from Wah Industries Limited, as a guest of honor, offered motivational guidance to students, emphasizing moral values, self-reflection, and a strong sense of purpose rooted in spiritual and ethical development.
Both distinguished guests commended CUI Wah Campus for organizing a successful event that directly connects students with industry stakeholders, paving the way for stronger professional networks and better employment outcomes.
They lauded the university’s efforts in producing well-prepared graduates equipped to meet the demands of modern industries.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to top-performing FYP teams and a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Ehsan Ullah Munir, who reaffirmed the university’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering partnerships that support national progress and industrial innovation.
