5,400 liters of adulterated milk discarded

RAWALPINDI, May 26 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority  (PFA) carried out an operation against substandard milk suppliers in Rawalpindi, setting up special checkpoints at GT Road, Bahria Town, Rawat, and IJP Road.
During the crackdown, PFA discarded 5,400 liters of adulterated milk on the spot after it was found to be mixed with water.
A fine of Rs 345,000 was also imposed on those involved in supplying low-quality milk, according to a spokesperson.
The inspection team checked a total of 114,000 liters of milk being transported in 20 different milk trucks.
PFA spokesman confirmed that such checks are part of their daily routine to ensure the supply of safe and healthy milk to
the public.
The Authority has urged citizens to report any complaints or suspicious milk supplies by calling the helpline at 1223.
