PESHAWAR, May 24 (APP):A Pakistani delegation led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Faisal Khan Tarakai on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Cambridge regarding teacher training, assessment, curriculum and early childhood education programs.
Cambridge University Press and Assessments CEO Rod Smith and Secretary Education Masood Ahmad and Education Advisor Mian Saaduddin were present on the occasion.
According to official release issued here, the Pakistani delegation, present in London, attending the World Education Forum, visited the University of Cambridge.
They reviewed the teacher training and other educational programs and facilities and were given a detailed briefing about the university.
KP Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai, on behalf of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department, signed the MoU aimed at enhancing teacher training, student assessment, and the promotion of early childhood education in the province.
Under this MoU, the University of Cambridge will provide technical assistance in training teachers and supporting other educational initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Education Department will benefit from Cambridge’s expertise to bring innovation to the province’s education system.
Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai stated that the department was committed to equipping teachers in KP with modern skills and adopting advanced assessment methods for students, drawing on Cambridge’s experience.
He emphasized that early childhood education, which was considered the backbone of the education system, would be further strengthened to ensure students perform well in national and international competitions.
