51,400 families enrolled in Quetta, Loralai with PMNHP to avail medical facility

ISLAMABAD, Aug 9 (APP): Around 51,400 families have so far been enrolled in Quetta and Loralai districts of Balochistan under the Prime Minister’s National Health Programme (PMNHP) to avail facility for medical treatment.
Of the total, 35,600 families were enrolled in Quetta and 15,800 in Loralai, according to sources at National Health Services Division.
They sources said in the first phase, the PMNHP would be implemented in four districts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Lasbela, Loralai and Kech.
Total 244,810 poor families (around 1.4 million individuals) would be benefiting from the programme, they added.
Quetta district is the first district in Balochistan where services have been started for beneficiaries through PMNHP. The programme was launched by the Prime Minister on May 2, 2016.
The sources said the process of enrolment was continuing in Quetta and Loralai districts, where 35,600 and 15,800 families respectively, out of total 120,000, had been enrolled so far.
The enrolment process in Lasbela and Kech districts would be started during months of August and September, they added.
The sources said hospitals being empaneled in Prime Minister’s National Health Programme in Quetta were Heart and General Hospital, Rahat Hospital, Gillani Hospital, Jilani Hospital, Sangeen Khan Memorial Hospital and CMH, Quetta (under process). The process of hospital empanelment in other districts was underway.
The sources said for first phase of the programme above mentioned four districts had been identified by the provincial government for PMNHP.
The ministry, they said, was currently revising its PC-1 to incorporate additional districts in the first phase and after its
approval, the federal government would request the Balochistan government for identification of additional districts to be added in the programme.
The sources said the PMNHP was going to expand in all the districts of Pakistan in subsequent phases.
