LAHORE, Nov 29 (APP): Wapda carved out a fine 4-2 win over Pakistan
Army in the final to win the title of Bahria 22nd National Baseball Championship here on Tuesday at Bahria baseball stadium.
Shaukat Javed Chairman, Pakistan baseball federation was the chief
guest on the occasion who was received by Syed Khawar Shah, president, PBF upon his arrival at the ground. Syed Fakhar Ali Shah Executive Director PFB, Mussadiq Hanif Head Coach and Muhammad Jamil Kamran Chairman Baseball Umpiring Association were also present.
The final was of nine innings and Wapda exhibited superb hitting and
running to take quick runs and outplayed Amry in all departments of the game. From winners Sumair Zawar, Waseem Ismail, Umair Imdad Bhatti and Waqas Ismail scored one run each. Umair Imdad Bhatti hit a home run for his team. Pakistan Army received one run each from
Imtiaz and Arif.
Syed Khawar Shah President PFB gave away Trophy to the winner team and also distributed the prizes and medals among the players.
Speaking on the occasion Syed Khawar Shah President (PFB) appreciated the game of both the teams. He said the game of baseball was at a rise in the country which was evident from the participation of Pak teams in the international events abroad and the good results achieved in recent years.
