Kundi for Research Cells in police department
ISLAMABAD, May 8 (APP): Acting Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi suggested the government on Friday for establishment of special research cells or units in all provincial police departments and other law enforcement agencies to fulfill the voice of time against terrorism. Addressing the launching ceremony of a first journal of its kind in history of the country titled by “Pakistan Journal of Criminology” in National Police Academy, he said, “in order to address the in-justice in our society we need to formulate criminal justice policies and to broaden the concept of justice education to all organizations that are concerned with criminal justice”. He further added, “As a first step, the Higher Education Commission should replace the proposed MSc Criminology syllabus that in addition to being out dated has no relevance whatsoever to the existing situation in the country and modern developments in the field of criminology across the world”. Journal was complied by Fasihuddin President Pakistan Society of Criminology. In his welcoming address Founder and Chief Editor of the Journal said, “We see crimes, we observe crimes, we read about crimes, we hear crimes but we don’t study it, we don’t analyse it and we don’t take it as an issue, as a problem, as a disease, as a challenge and as a responsibility to do something about it.” “Criminology helps us in transmitting our experiences to future generations in a proper, verified and understandable way” he concluded. Muhammad Ali, Moazam Hayat, Alce Sahiker and others also addressed on this occasion.
