TROs meeting to be held after consultation with parliamentary leaders: Ayaz Sadiq

ISLAMABAD, July 31 (APP): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Sunday refuted the news, appeared in a section of media about the meeting of Terms of References (TROs) Committee on August 6.

The Speaker, in a statement here clarified that such news were baseless and said that the date for TROs meeting would be announced after consultation with the parliamentary leaders of all parties.

The government, he said had informed him in writing that it
wanted to hold the meeting on August 1 or 2 and for that it talked to PPP’s Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan. However, Aitzaz Ahsan said that he would not be available on these days; hence he asked to hold the meeting on some other day.

Ayaz Sadiq said after that he contacted Pakistan Tehreek-e-
Insaf’s Shireen Mazari and asked her to give someone else’s name to represent the party instead of Shah Mehmood Qureshi as he was out of the country. He said he had also explained to Shireen that the government wanted to convene the meeting on August 1 or 2.

The Speaker said that he had come to know that Minister for
Finance Ishaq Dar would depart for Dubai on the evening of August 2 to attend an International Monitory Fund (IMF) meeting and would return on August 6 or 7. Hence, the decision to hold the meeting will be taken after August 8 after consultation with all party leaders, he added.
