ISLAMABAD, Nov 2 (APP): The work on Takht Bhai overhead
bridge on Nowshehra-Chitral Highway (N-45) would be completed by the end of November.
An official of National Highway Authority ( NHA) told APP
Wednesday that its work was supposed to be completed by the end of
August, but the contractor failed to meet the deadline. Now its work
has nearly been completed and only a few beam girders were left to
be placed on the pier caps.
To a question, he said that Takht Bhai Flyover contract was
awarded in November 28, 2012 and its work started on February 6,
2013.
Justifying the delay in its construction on the project, he
said that the delay occurred due to the change in its original plan
and design.
He informed that various obstructions and utilities of
different department were also responsible for delay in execution of
the project.
These utilities and obstruction had been removed with
a lot of efforts through coordination with various departments
involved in the project area including Pakistan Railway, utilities
of PESCO, PTCL, SNGPL and TMA.
He said that the government also considers the project of
great importance as Takht Bhai flyover was a gateway to 11
districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and over 7,000,000 people
would benefit from its completion.
