Strict action against Punjab bureaucracy over inaction on public complaints

ISLAMABAD, Apr 20 (APP):The Government of Punjab has taken strict action against several bureaucrats for their inaction over the public complaints registered through the Pakistan Citizen Portal on varying subjects.
According to a PM Office statement, the Citizen Portal was playing an effective role to address the public grievances and the government had acted against the officers for failing to do that.
As per details, the Punjab government had removed the assistant commissioners of Toba Tek Singh, Gujrat and Dera Ghazi Khan from their offices over their negligence and inaction on the public complaints.
Besides, 31 assistant commissioners had been issued show cause notices and another 21 were given warning letters.
Similarly, 71 assistant commissioners were also given commendation certificates for their performance in resolution of public issues.
The scrutiny of the bureaucracy on the basis of the data obtained from the Citizen Portal was the best example of good governance, the statement added.
