`Shehr-e-Kitab’ in capital to have more facilities for book readers


ISLAMABAD, Mar 05 (APP):The novel facility of “Shehr-e-Kitab” (City of Books) launched by National Book Foundation (NBF) at F/7 Markaz will introduce more facilities for the readers to inculcate
book reading habit among them.
Shehr-e-Kitab consisting over 30 book stalls was established by NBF in the year 2016 to promote book reading culture through providing books on diversified subjects, academic books and educational material on discounted rates.
The book friendly initiative of Shehr-e-Kitab received over whelming response from the local visitors during the span of two years.
Talking to APP on Monday, Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage (NH&LH), Irfan Siddiqui informed that facility of `Book Cafe’ is being added to the Shehr-e-Kitab where tea, coffee and other eatables will be available for the book readers.
Besides this, a reading room is also being set up at Shehr-e-Kitab where book lovers will be able to study with comfort.
Irfan Siddiqui said that Shehr-e-Kitab after addition of these two facilities will prove as more attractive and effective for the local dwellers. These new facilities will be inaugurated on March 10, he added.
He revealed that initial preparations have also been started to establish Shehr-e-Kitab in Karachi.
