International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the UN
specialized agency for Information and Communication
Technologies (ICTs), Houlin Zhao called on Special Assistant
to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq

The SAPM recalled his most cordial and fruitful meeting
with Mr. Houlin Zhao on May 18, 2016 during his visit to
Geneva to attend Conference on Disarmament, a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here.

Commending the important role of ITU on standardization
and regulation of international telecommunications, the SAPM highlighted the steps taken by the Government to harness the immense potential of the ICTs in spurring socio-economic development in the country and achieving a knowledge-based society.

Acknowledging the active role being played by Pakistan
in support of the organization, the ITU Secretary General

collaborative ties.

He also appreciated the Government’s vision to provide
