SBP, PFA to make efforts for promotion of football in schools


LAHORE, May 13 (APP):Football is one of the popular sports of the country and the Sports Board Punjab (SBP) and the Punjab Football Association (PFA) will make joint efforts for promotion of the game in schools across the province.
These views were expressed by Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar during a meeting with Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Vice-President Malik Amir Dogar, President Punjab Football Association Sardar Naveed Haider and President Sahiwal Football Association MPA Naveed Arshad Lodhi here at the National Hockey Stadium Nadeem Sarwar said there should be proper patronisation of football in the country.
“The Sports Board Punjab will also hold three-week under-16 training camps in Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi with the collaboration of Punjab Football Association,” he added.
PFF Vice-President Malik Amir Dogar and President Punjab Football Association Sardar Naveed Haider also promised to provide FIFA and AFC qualified coaches for the top standard training of young players during camp sessions. The up-gradation of football grounds was also discussed during the meeting.
Director General Sports Punjab, on this occasion, said that Punjab games have been revived after a gap of eight years under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. “The training camps of young players are also being organised throughout Punjab to prepare nursery of Under-16 talented players in the province,” he added.
