ISLAMABAD, Sep 5 (APP):Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi on Wednesday said religious harmony was indispensable for maintaining law and order and ensuring prosperity of the country.
The minister said this while chairing a meeting to review security arrangements of Pakistani religious pilgrims going abroad for pilgrimage. The meeting was attend by the officials of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Ministry for Inter-Provincial Coordination and other concerned departments.
It was decided during the meeting to evolve a concrete strategy to provide foolproof security to the religious pilgrims, said a press release issued by the ministry of interior.
All the stakeholders should work together for provision of foolproof security to religious pilgrims going abroad so that their journey could be made more easy and hassle free, the minister added.
Shehryar Afridi directed the concerned authorities to enhance the security on entry and exit points in Balochistan for religious pilgrims.
He also directed expansion of Immigration Office and increase in number officials of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The minister, on the occasion, was briefed by the chief secretary Balochistan.
