ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP): Rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at scattered places in Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the next 24 hours.
According to the synoptic situation, heat low was lying over north Balochistan and its adjoining area.
Monsoon currents were penetrating in upper and central parts of the country and likely to continue during next three days.
A westerly wave was still affecting northern parts of the country.
Rain-thunderstorm is likely in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions in Punjab and Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu divisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Rain is also expected at isolated places in Southeastern Sindh, south Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Heavyfalls may generate flash flooding and landslides in the vulnerable areas of Punjab, KPK, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
The rainfall (mm) recorded during the last 24 hours was Punjab: Islamabad (Zero Point 63, Golra 11, Saidpur, Bokra 03), Rawalpindi (Shamsbad 32, Chaklala 04), Jhehlum 26, Faisalabad 25, Toba Tek Singh 23, Gujranwala 18, Sialkot (City 26, Airport 16), Jhang 14, Mangla 12, Murree 10, Mandi Bahuadin 09, Khanpur 08, Rahim Yar Khan 08, Lahore (Airport 09, City 03).
The rainfall recorded at other places was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Bannu 64, Balakot 49, Kakul 27, Dir, Malamjabba 15, Saidu Sharif 11, Parachinar 05, Kalam 04, Peshawar 04, Pattan 02, Cherat 01, Kashmir: Muzaffarabad 23, Garidupatta 16, GB: Gupis 18, Astore, Skardu 01, Sindh: Nagerparker 15, Islamkot 05, Diplo 04, Chachro 03, Badin 06, Hyderabad 05, Quetta: Sibbi 05, Lasbella 02.
The highest maximum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Dalbandin 45 C, Nokkundi 43 C and Chillas and Rahim Yar Khan 42 C.
