President urges int’l community to wake on Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain has
urged the need of forging unity among Muslims in the light of the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) to tackle the threats of extremism and external aggression.

“One the important objectives of that great sacrifice
[of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A)] was to save the Muslims from divide and uniting them. Today, we, in the light of that great sacrifice, can also tackle the threats of extremism and external aggression,” the President said in his message on the occasion of Yaum e Ashur (10th Muharram).

He said, “the only way to face all these challenges is
that the nation follows the teachings of Quran and does not
indulge in discord. Not only Ashura Muharram gives this
message, but this is also the gist of the teachings of Hazrat
Imam Hussain (R.A).”

The President said, “10th Muharram ul Haram was not only
an important day in the history of Islam but also that of the world’s history, as on this day, the grandson of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and his family offered great sacrifice for a great objective.”

“This day does not only reminds us of that great tragic
happening on Ahl e Bait, but also gives us a lesson that when philosophy and objective come in danger, then nothing remains important,” he added.

The President said, “This great day reminds us that when
universal values of Islam are disregarded and personal interests get importance, then as a result of it, social justice is compromised.”

“While remembering the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain
(R.A) and his family, we should also keep in mind the fact that his struggle was only meant for Allah’s will, and that is why it is incumbent upon us to take guidance from the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) for resolution of our problems,” he maintained.
