ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP):Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey will hold a Turkish movie night here on March 28 with screening of Turkish film “Last Letter (Son Mektup)”.
Written and director by Ozhan Eren, the film was released in 2015. The story revolves around the life of a widower pilot who meets a nurse during his air missions in Gallipoli.
It is a historical drama portraying Pilot Captain Salih Ekrem as a young air officer and one of the first Ottoman pilots who lost his wife during the birth of his daughter. He leaves Istanbul to go to Gallipoli, while engaged in an air mission, Salih gives aid to a group of Turkish medical personnel, among which is a young nurse Nihal. After Nihal’s return to Istanbul, their togetherness blossoms into a great love expressed in letters.
The film screening is part of regular activities of PNCA as every month such film screenings are held at PNCA featuring culture and traditions of different countries to involve the audience of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in healthy activities as well as understand the cultural values of other communities, the organizers said.
