MULTAN, May 26 (APP): State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali Thursday said the government of Pakistan Muslim League (N) was taking solid measures for economic stability and progress of the country.

The government had taken practical steps to overcome energy crisis, adding that 10,000 megawatts would be added to the national grid by 2018 through coal and hydel projects, the Minister said.

Abid Sher Ali expressed these views while talking to journalists at the Mepco Headquarters here.

He said uninterrupted power supply would be provided to consumers during the holy month of Ramazan, especially during “Sehar and Iftar”.

He said eight to ten hours electricity would be provided to the industrial sector during Ramazan while their remaining requirement would be met by providing gas.

To a question about forthcoming budget, he said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had taken all stakeholders into confidence before the budget.

To another question, he said the PML-N government believed in accountability of everyone. However, he warned that PTI chairman Imran Khan must refrain from using objectionable language and added that Imran khan’s sisters and other members of the family had also their offshore companies.

Responding to a question about recent drone attack, he said that the government had voiced strong concern over the violation of its territory and sovereignty.

“The government and military are on the same page. The Pakistan Army is giving precious sacrifices in the war against terrorism”, he mentioned.
