FAISALABAD, June 01 (APP)::Pakistan Muslim League-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif on Friday said the PML-N would again make a clean-sweep during the next general election to accomplish its unfinished development agenda in addition to preserve the sanctity of vote.
He was addressing a PML-N workers’ convention here in Chak 247/R-B Miani on Sammundri Raod.
He said that he had just completed 80 hearings which was a record in the country’s history, yet he was unable to understand why he had been victimized. Was it a sin to weed out poverty and terrorism and make Pakistan an atomic power, he asked.
He denied any corruption allegations and said that he had completed record development projects. “Two motorways are passing along this venue. Farmers are getting cheaper fertilizers. People are not only getting electricity but we are also trying to make it cheaper,” he said.
Pakistan was making progress by leaps and bounds when he was ousted which inflicted colossal loss to the national economy, he added.
He said that when no allegation against him was proved, a frivolous case was instituted against him that he had not received salary from his own son.
He asked the people if they accepted the decision, they rejected it. Nawaz Sharif asked that they could revert this decision through their vote.
He said that a story appeared in a local newspaper that the prime minister and Punjab chief were inaugurating various development projects every day.
He said that it was his passion and he had completed record development projects, but the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had failed to facilitate the masses and the people of that province were now scorning Imran Khan, who had totally ruined that province.
He said that Shehbaz Sharif had built roads, universities, colleges and hospitals, anybody who wanted to see progress, he should visit Punjab.
Nawaz Sharif criticized the conspiracies being hatched to delay the elections.
Commenting on the resolution moved in the Balochistan Assembly, he said, “The people as well as political parties have already rejected it totally and masses know that PML-N will Insha Allah make a clean sweep in election scheduled to be held on July 25.”
He said that a handful of disgruntled elements were making conspiracies fearing their defeat in the general election.
He asked the PML-N workers to remain vigilant and flood the polling stations to cast votes. They should also remain there till the successful announcement of PML-N candidates, he added.
He said, “The PML-N, after winning the next general election will provide respectable jobs to the Pakistani youth. We will also provide shelter to every homeless individual. Justice will be delivered at their doorsteps and in this connection, the PML-N will go to the masses with a slogan ‘give respect to the vote’.”
He said, “Peoples’ vote was held in the lowest esteem during the last 70 years, but now we have to give due respect to it.”
Earlier, Maryam Nawaz in her address said that she remained four years at the Prime Minister House along with his father, but they had to face repeated conspiracies in the form of a 120 days sit-in and Dawn Leaks, but the PM refused to bow down, and then he was removed from the Prime Minister House without any cogent reason.
She said that even after his disqualification, a ‘Fatwa’ was issued against him and then he was also dubbed as a traitor when he pointed out an old issue.
She asked the people to support democracy and PML-N in the coming election.
Former Punjab law minister Rana Sana Ullah, former MNAs Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali and Mian Farooq were also present on the occasion.
