ISLAMABAD, Jun 3 (APP): Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Political Affairs, Dr Asif Kirmani Friday said Pakistan Muslim League (N) had always encouraged women participation in politics to ensure their involvement at decision making level.
He was speaking at a function held here to welcome the announcement of Leader Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf, AJK, Raheela Khan for joining PML-N.
Kirmani said “Women comprises of almost 52 to 54 percent of the total population and it is hard to achieve progress and prosperity without ensuring their active participation”.
“Workers of PML-N are working day and night to serve the masses under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif”, he added.
He recalling the significant role of women in politics during Pakistan’ Independence Movement and said a number of leading women including Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, Begum Shahnawaz, Lady Haroon and others played eminent role working side by side with Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah during the movement tirelessly.
He stated that women have very important role as mothers, daughters, sisters and undoubtedly “they are capable enough to utilize their abilities for the nation building”.
Kirmani said Kashmir election was not far away and during last few months, the party workers visited almost every nook and corner of AJK to show solidarity with them.
The enthusiasm of women, men, old persons, children and especially youth toward the upcoming election in AJK was worthseeing and reflect that they need a change. “We heard
the slogans of Nawaz Sharif Zindabad-PML-N Zindabad everywhere”, he added.
