ISLAMABAD, July 8 (APP): Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Friday forecast rain and dust-thundershower in different parts of the country including the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi during next 48 hours.
Rain/dust-thundershower is expected at scattered places in
Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Zhob divisions, besides Islamabad, Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Kashmir, according to the data of Met department.
Light rain is expected in the coastal areas of Sindh including Karachi, while hot and humid weather to persist elsewhere in the country.
As per the 24-hour forecast, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country during the day time.
However, rain and dust-thunderstorm with isolated heavyfalls accompanied by windstorm is expected at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan divisions, besides Islamabad, Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Kashmir on Friday night and Saturday morning.
According to the synoptic situation, a well marked low pressure area (LPA) over central parts of India (Madhya Pradesh) persists and likely to move further westward slowly in next 24 hours.
Under the influence of LPA, more monsoon incursion is very likely in Pakistan during the coming days.
Seasonal low lies over North Balochistan and a shallow westerly wave is still affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 to 36 hours.
Monsoon currents from Arabian sea are continually penetrating over central and upper parts of the country and likely to continue during next couple of days.
Whereas, during last 24 hours, weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, rain-thundershower occurred at scattered places in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The maximum temperature recorded during last 24 hours were: Dalbandin 49øC, Nokkundi 48øC, Pajgur 46øC, Rohri 45øC. Islamabad 39øC, Lahore 39øC, Karachi 31øC, Peshawar 41øC, Quetta 40øC, Gilgit 36øC, Chitral 36øC, Hunza 30øC, Muzaffarabad 37øC, Murree 25øC, Skardu 32øC, Faisalabad 39øC, Multan 40øC, Hyderabad 37øC, Dir 35øC and Kalat 34øC.
