ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (APP): Chairperson, Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Nuzhat Sadiq on Thursday lauded Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for making it clear that resolution of Kashmir dispute was indispensable for peace and normalization.
In his speech at United Nations General Assembly, the Prime
Minister took a bold and clear stand on Kashmir issue which must be resolved to ensure development and prosperity in the region, she told APP while giving her comments on the speech.
She said the Prime Minister has urged the world community to help resolve lingering dispute which has claimed lives of tens of thousands of innocent people.
“PM Nawaz has raised Kashmir issue vigorously on world forums and at same time he presented India’s state terrorism very effectively,” she added.
The Senator said it was for the first time that any Pakistani
leader not only took up the issue so boldly but spoke with
conviction and offered the world body to share evidence of Indian brutalities which has claimed over 100 lives in renewed phase of violence that has gripped the valley since July, when a young Kashmiri freedom fighter was martyred.
Nuzhat Sadiq also lauded PM Nawaz who is using every
platform to highlight the Kashmir issue.
Answering a question, Nuzhat said it is a good omen that
PM’s speech, in which he drew world attention to Indian brutalities in Occupied Kashmir, was also being appreciated by opposition parties in the country and added it is a time to get united and send a clear message to the world that whole Pakistani nation wants resolution of Kashmir dispute.
