ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP): Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada asked media on Monday to play its role in promotion of sports in the country stating that the entire nation, including media should come forward for promoting a healthy culture.
He was talking to a delegation of media department students of Islamia University Bahawalpur that called on him here, said a press release.
Welcoming the delegation the minister said, youth were country’s asset and they could play a concrete role in country’s development. He said youth should take keen interest in sports adding that it was also the responsibility of parents to invite their children’s attention towards healthy activities.
He said terrorism had caused huge damage to sports in Pakistan stating there was no dearth of talent in the country and our youth like other fields could also excel in sports. He underlined the need to provide maximum opportunities to youth in sports. He also urged the students to work hard and try to earn name in their respective fields.
