PESHAWAR, Nov 16 (APP): PIMS club clinched the trophy of the Shama
Tri-Angular Twenty20 Cricket Cup after defeating Gymkhana Stars by seven wickets in the final played at Gymkhana ground on Wednesday.
Skipper Muhammad Ilyas won the toss and invited Gymkhana Stars to bat first. Gymkhana Stars while batting first scored 137 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Adil Karim made 34 runs, Zahid Anwar and Shanshah scored 20 runs each. For PIMS club Usman Khan and Irfan claimed two wickets each.
In reply, PIMS club chased the target for the loss of three wickets
after playing 17.2 overs. Opener Rashid Khan made 53 runs, Malik Salman scored 23 runs and Taimur scored 18 runs. For Gymkhana Stars Asad Ullah got two wickets while Muhammad Ramzan took one wicket.
At the end, Director PIMS University Anwar Khan gave away trophies and cash prizes. PCB Official Fazale Akbar, First Class Cricketer Hamad Ul Hassan, and President Shama Club Hanif Shah, officials and players were also present.
