PESHAWAR, Aug 3 (APP): Peshawar recorded third consecutive victory against Swat in the Regional Inter-District Senior Cricket Championship played here at University Campus ground on Wednesday.

The pick of the Peshawar were star batsmen Adil Amin and Sajid Khan who played a key role in the team’s victory.

Peshawar Coach Sajjad Akhtar and Manager Aziz Ur Rehman lauded the back to back team victory. They
termed the victory a team effort.

He said that the team had a comprehensive 197 runs victory against Dir Lower in which Adil struck an elegant century while Sajid Khan took five wickets in each of the innings. Mehran and Sahibzada scored 50s in each innings against Dir.

In the match against Swat, Peshawar won the toss and invited Swat to bat first. For Swat only opener Muhammad Mohib scored 49 runs and Ibrar Ahmad scored 41 runs, none of the other batsmen could cross the double figures and thus Swat were bowled out for 115 runs in 36.2 overs.

Sajid Khan played a key role by claiming five wickets for 24 runs in his 11 overs spell, Taj Wali took two wickets while Abdul Samad got two wickets.

In reply Peshawar scored 366 runs with Sahibzada Farhan hit an elegant 100, Zawan Hikmat scored 64 runs, Adil Amin 68 runs, Mehran Ibrahim made 91 runs and Adnan Shah scored 21 runs. Peshawar had 251 runs lead, for the loss of seven wickets. For Swat Muhammad Aqib took four wickets, Najeeb Ullah got two and Mohsin took one wicket.

Charsadda after going into 251 runs deficit, bundled out for
171 runs with Mohib scoring 31, Wahid 34 runs, Ibrar Ahmad scored 30 and Dawood Suleman 34 runs. For Peshawar Taj Wali, Mian Khan, Sajid Khan and Abdul Samad got two wickets each while Mehran Ibrhaim got one wicket.

Thus Peshawar won the match by an innings and 79 runs.

Saqib Khan and Abdul Wasay supervised the match while Noor Muhammad was official scorer.
