ISLAMABAD, Sep 21 (APP): Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal said on Wednesday the people of Jammu and Kashmir deserved peace just as people in South Sudan and East Timor won peace through recognition of their rights.
In his message on World Peace Day issued here, he said, peace was a pre-requisite for stability, which was a pre requisite for development.
“We need to strengthen the link between peace and development in order to create a safe and harmonious world,” he added.
The Minister said, peace could not be achieved by guns, adding, “Peace is built on understanding, dialogue and co existence. Quest for peace is a universal truth.
It transcends the boundaries of religion, ethnicity or language.”
