Pakistani students in Sri Lanka on exchange programme

ISLAMABAD, Oct 13 (APP): A 10-member student delegation from Modernage Public School and College, Abbottabad is currently on a visit to Sri Lanka on an exchange programme.

Led by School Principal Abdul Wahid Mir, the delegation will be in Sri Lanka under the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Youth Exchange Programme, arranged by Ministry of National Policy and Economic Affairs and National Youth Services Council of Sri Lanka.

The delegation met Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Maj. Gen (retd) Syed Shakeel Hussain at the High Commission of Pakistan, Colombo.

Briefing the delegation about Pakistan-Sri Lanka relation, the High Commissioner highlighted the excellent relations between the two countries.

He emphasized that such visits were an excellent way to further improve the understanding and friendship between the two nations.

He expressed the hope that the visit would add value to the already strong bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

He added that more frequent people-to-people contacts through enhanced student and faculty exchanges between learning institutions of the two countries would further promote this relationship.

He assured that the High Commission would continue to patronize and support such initiatives.
