Pakistan to see dawn of progress, prosperity soon: President

ISLAMABAD, Dec 1 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said that Pakistan would see the dawn of progress and prosperity soon and emerge as apeaceful, strong and prosperous country with a positive impact on the quality of life of the people.
He was addressing the 82nd Convocation of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology here at the Convention Centre.The President said the country would achieve progress with the completion of ongoing development projects and earn a high place in
the comity of nations. He asked the students to acquire higher education, uphold
their religious and moral norms and never let down their Pakistani identity as this was the key to excel and achieve progress. In a globalized world, significance of attaining
progress in science and technology had increased, he added. The President expressed satisfaction that the government was paying attention towards the important sector of education so that the people could benefit from scientific knowledge. He, however,
added that in this regard heavy responsibility fell on educational institutions as well.
The educational institutions and all stakeholders should cooperate with the government for designing the curriculum on modern lines, he added.The President said along with education the government was working with dedication for economic stability which included
many projects of electricity generation and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). It would bring a positive impact on the quality of life of the people, he added.
He said that the country’s bad days were over and the future  held bright prospects. It was for this reason that the new generation  needed to fulfil its responsibilities with honesty and never compromised on national interests. The President rejected a perception that the external debt had increased. In fact during the present tenure loans had been
taken to repay previous debts and resultantly many external debts
had been paid, he said.Mamnoon Hussain also distributed medals and degrees among
position holders and successful students. Federal Minister for Science & Technology and Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said there was a need to develop human resource
in Pakistan. He said the government in this regard was pursuing right policies to meet future challenges.
