Pakistan to develop rail corridors for trade with Afghanistan, Iran

ISLAMABAD, May 11 (APP): Commerce Minister Engineer
Khurram Dastagir Khan said Wednesday that Pakistan was deeply
interested in laying modern rail tracks and refurbishing of
existing routes for direct and transit trade with Afghanistan
and Iran.

Chairing a meeting held here with business delegation
from South Africa, the minister said the govt considers rail
tracks as trade corridors because these would play vital role
in boosting Pakistani exports and facilitate transit trades.

The delegation was led by Willem Goosen of M/s Grindrod
Rail, Multi Continent Investment Company while Asfhaq Anwar,
a Pakistani businessman in South Africa also accompanied the
visiting businessmen.
