Pakistan, Australia at top in hockey tournament in Malaysia

LAHORE, Nov 3 (APP): After the completion of the third round in the 6th  Sultan of Johor hockey Cup , Pakistan junior team and Australia are at top with seven points each at Malaysian city of Johor Bahru.

Six junior teams are participating in the tournament which is in
progress at Daya hockey stadium, said the information made available here on Thursday.

Pakistan has performed very well till now, winning two and drawing one
match. With seven points, they are level with Australia at the top though the Aussies are ahead because of the superior goal difference. The two table toppers will clash tomorrow Friday.

Australia has scored 17 goals against its respective opponents and
conceded 3 .Pakistan netted 11 goals as compared to 5 against it.

Pakistan’s last fixture is against Japan on Nov 5, who have surprised
everyone with victories over England and New Zealand, and currently stand third in the table.

After the round robin, the six teams will be in action on Nov 6 for the
final, 3/4th and 5/6th position matches.
