Pakistan attaches great importance to its cordial relations with Saudi Arabia: Khattak

ISLAMABAD, Sep 6 (APP):Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak Thursday said that Pakistan attached great importance to its cordial relations with Saudi Arabia and desired to further expand its cooperation in all fields.
He was speaking in a meeting with Saudi ambassador Nawaf Al Malki, who called on him here. Secretary Defence Lt Gen (Retd) Ikram-ul-Haq was also present on the occasion.
The Saudi ambassador felicitated the minister on assuming the charge of Defence Minister and reaffirmed continued support of his Government to Pakistan, a press release said.
Thanking him and extending his good wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, the minister highlighted the enduring brotherly relations between the two countries based on mutual trust.
During the meeting, issues relating to existing bilateral defence relations and areas of future cooperation were deliberated upon. Both sides expressed satisfaction over the present status of mutual defence collaboration and agreed to work together towards its enhancement.
Later, the ambassador called on Secretary Ministry of Defence Lt Gen (Retd) Ikram-ul-Haq and congratulated the secretary on his appointment.
Secretary Defence apprised the ambassador of the efforts of Pakistani armed forces in countering menace of terrorism and ongoing operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
The prevailing political and security situation in the region also came under discussion.
