Pak-Turkey to extend bilateral relations in power sector

ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (APP):Pakistan and Turkey have mutually agreed on extending their bilateral relations and work collectively on different sectors particularly in Power sector.
Matters related to mutual cooperation in different areas were discussed in a meeting between Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari and Ambassador of Turkey in Pakistan Mustafa Yardakul held here Monday, said a press release.
The ambassador not only appreciated the endeavors of the incumbent government towards enhancing and accelerating the bilateral relations with Turkey, but also admired the significant contribution made by power division.
He said power sector was the fast growing sector in Pakistan and its progress had been considered as praiseworthy.
Federal Minister Awais leghari said we had always focused on strengthening bilateral relations. “Pakistan and Turkey are bosom friends and this friendship will last forever. We are eager to collaborate on different projects with Turkey to nourish this relation and to collaborate in energy sector particularly,” he added.
Awais Leghari thanked the ambassador and expressed that being democratic countries, Pakistan and Turkey had very strong bond and with every passing day both countries were embracing strong and closest relations.
Appreciating the contribution of the Turkish investors in power sector, the minister further invited the Turkish investors to participate in the consumer services as the country had achieved bridging the demand and supply gap.
Thanking the federal minister for warm reception, the ambassador said Turkish investors were interested to further invest in power sector as it was the fast growing sector in Pakistan and its progress had been considered as exemplary.
Mustafa Yardakul assured that we would keep on further extending assistance to Pakistan in power sector and said Turkey would also look into investing in the service delivery at the distribution level.
Besides, joint secretary power division, other high officials were also present on the occasion.
