Pak Judokas to depart to UAE on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (APP): A four-member Pakistan team will depart to Abu Dhabi, UAE on Wednesday (October 26) to participate in the Grand Slam scheduled to be held from October 27 to 30.
Talking to APP, Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) vice president Masood Ahmed said the judokas to participate in the event include Wajahat Sarwat (-100kg), Qaiser Khan (-81kg), Nadeem Akram (-73kg) and Amina (57kg).
He said the participation of Amina is doubtful in the Grand Slam as she is suffering from a knee injury and if she gets her MRI cleared then she will be going in the event. “Grand Slam is a mega event and judokas from all over the world will participate in it,” he said.
Speaking about the Iranian coach Sajjad Kazemi, he said we are thinking to renew his contract for two years till 2018.
It may be mentioned here that Sajjad went to Iran in Ramzan to spend holidays at home but after Eid his visa expired due to which he was facing problems in joining his duty in Pakistan.
For the renewal of Sajjad’s visa, PJF sent request to the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and then his case was forwarded to the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC). If PJF extends his contract then he will be granted visa.
