Ombudsman, Uzbek envoy discuss ways to promote ties

ISLAMABAD, Oct 7 (APP): Ambassador of Uzbekistan Furqat A. Sidikov called on Federal Ombudsman Muhammad Salman Faruqui on Friday and discussed ways to promote bilateral relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

The envoy conveyed keen interest of the Ombudsman of Uzbekistan to get the details of the new initiatives of introducing Swift Complaint Resolution Mechanism in Pakistan and vision of administration of justice at the doorsteps of citizens, a press release said.

The ambassador showed keen interest and desired to replicate the same mechanism in Uzbekistan.

The ambassador reiterated that Pakistan and Uzbekistan have developed political relations and now cooperating in other areas like economic and agriculture sectors.

He desired to develop people to people relationship among both the countries.

He invited the Federal Ombudsman to visit Uzbekistan during the coming elections as international observer.

The Federal Ombudsman who is also the President of Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA) and President International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) Asian Region said, “We will appreciate if Ombudsman of Uzbekistan considers to join IOI Asian Region instead of European Region, as Uzbekistan is geographically located in Asia.”

The ambassador promised to extend his full support in the matter.
