Nine killed in Jhirik road accident


THATTA, Aug 21 (APP): Nine people, including women and children, lost their lives while 15 others sustained injuries when a Shahdadkot-bound coach hit a truck near Jhirik area of Thatta district on Sunday.

According to rescue officials the dead and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Thatta.

The deceased were identified as Rahim Khokhar (40), Bibi Janib Magsi (75), Shoaeb (08), son of Barkat Magsi, Abdur Rehman Babar (27), Sher Muhammad, Marwat (08), Bachae (23), Lal Khatoon Channa (35), and Shakeela (10). Most of the victims belonged to Shahdadkot.

According to surviving passengers, the driver of the coach was driving recklessly and in an attempt to overtake another vehicle rammed into a slow moving loaded truck at Dadoori Patan area near Jhirik town on the National Highway.
