More dams should be constructed in Pakistan to meet water shortage: Lord Nazir



MULTAN, Sept 15 (APP)::Member British House of Lords Lord Nazir Ahmed Saturday said more dams should be constructed in Pakistan in order to meet water shortage.
Addressing lawyers here, he said India was making dams on rivers and also changing the course of rivers which passed through Pakistan. Pakistan should focus on construction of more dams to meet the requirement of the coming generations, he added.
Lord Nazir said he belonged to Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, and recalled that they had given permission for building the Mangal dam.
He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a mega project and Pakistan should get the maximum advantage of it.
He said the south Punjab province should be made as it would ensure record development in the area, besides it would be also beneficial for rest of the provinces to help them make rapid progress.
He supported the demand of lawyers that the district courts should be located in the city area.
