Pakistan welcomes UN request for fact-finding mission to IOK

ISLAMABAD, Sep 3 (APP): Foreign Office on Saturday out-
rightly rejected media reports that Omer Shahab was an
official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“A section of Media, both print and online editions, has
reported that Omer Shahab, an accused allegedly involved in
the smuggling of children’s organs to India has served in
Pakistan Embassy in Kuwait and is an official of this
Ministry.”
“The reports are completely incorrect and are rejected
out-rightly. It may be noted that the alleged person never
served in Pakistan Embassy in Kuwait and is not an official of
this Ministry,” Foreign Office said in a statement issued
here.
“It is absolutely irresponsible on the part of those
dailies and online media to publish stories without verifying
the information,” the statement said.
“All those dailies and the online editions, which
identified the accused person, Mr. Omer Shahab, as a Foreign
Office official and him having served in Pakistan’s Mission in
Kuwait are advised to issue rectification in their respective
newspapers and online editions, forthwith,” it added.
