Masses rejected politics of agitation, protests: Shahid Khaqan

ISLAMABAD, Sep 9 (APP): Minister for Petroleum and Natural
Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Friday said the masses had rejected politics of agitation and protests and they would hold accountability of the government in the general elections 2018.

“General Elections would held in 2018 and all political
parties would be judged on the basis of performance”, he said speaking in a private news channel program.

He said people would give their decision through votes
keeping in view performance of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML N) in their respective areas.

The minister said protests and demonstrations were
democratic right of every political party but it should not be misused. PTI can hold protests and organize rallies against the government but marching towards others homes can result same consequences for PTI chief.

He said how Imran Khan can ensure peace during protest at
Raiwind when track record of PTI public gatherings told that their women participants were not safe there as many incidents of misbehavior had been occurred.

Shahid Khaqan said it has become a practice by the PTI
leadership that they leveled allegations but never presented any evidence.

He said, PTI’s petition against the Prime Minister has been
rejected by the Supreme Court and National Assembly due to lack of evidence.

Despite the fact that name of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was not mentioned in Panama Papers, he had clarified his position in the Parliament on the demand of the opposition parties, he said.

He said the Prime Minister had also presented himself and
family for investigation on Panama Papers but we wanted to frame such Terms of Reference (ToR) that hold accountable all those who were named in the Papers.
