Marvi offers KP to utilize NHIP database for health services delivery

PESHAWAR, Aug 30 (APP): Minister for State and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Marvi Memon Tuesday offered Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to utilize database of National Health Insurance Program of Prime Minister for health service delivery in the province.

Addressing a ceremony of distribution of gold medals among toppers of different medical colleges of KP here at Khyber Medical College, she said the political differences with Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf would not become a hurdle for PML-N in delivery of services to masses.

She said the federal government was fully ready to cooperate with the provincial government of KP for better health facilities and services, adding, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had launched NHIP as part of the efforts to identify under-privileged citizens across the country and provide them with medical healthcare in swift and dignified manners.

She also urged doctors, especially young doctors, to volunteer themselves and take challenge in serving poors of their province.

Marvi said, from the platform of BISP, I offer KP doctors to associate with the program and voluntarily provide services to destitute and under-privileged people of inaccessible areas.

She said the people of KP suffered a lot due to militancy and terrorism but the situation was getting better now as the Prime Minister along with the armed forces of Pakistan was ensuring to wipe out terrorism from the country.

“The Prime Minister along with armed forces is making efforts to ensure successful end of the operation against terrorism. It is a constant cleanup operation and any fix date
for its end cannot be given,” she said.

Marvi mentioned that whenever she visit KP or FATA, she never care about her security, as she believe to die while serving masses.

She highly appreciated the services of KP doctors for “over performing” in challenging circumstances and said the doctors deserve applause for saving many lives whenever any unfortunate incident took place in the province.

She expressed great happiness to grace the occasion as chief guest, saying, “After a long time I have visited KP for a happy occasion. I really salute KP people who faced several brunt of terrorism very bravely.”

Marvi also mentioned on the occasion that there are 5.3 million beneficiaries of BISP and the federal government was providing all support for the welfare of poor people.

Responding to a question of change in KP by media, she said, the change could be witnessed only there where work was done.

Later, she decorated the outshined students of various medical colleges of KP with gold medals and also distributed certificated among them and awarded diplomas certificate
to doctors of Post Graduate Diploma.

MPA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Chairman standing committee on Health Mehmood Jan, Principal Khyber Medical College Ejaz Hassan, Vice Chancellor Swabi University Professor Noor Jehan, Dr Omar of Commat and DG BISP were also present on the occasion.

The other speakers emphasized upon health management services at hospital of KP to protect lives of doctors, paramedics, attendants of the patients and other staff from
infectious diseases.

MPA Mehmood Jan assured support of KP government for arranging insulin camps at hospitals of the province.
