Martyrs’ sacrifices restored peace; Jam Kamal

QUETTA, Sep 06 (APP):An impressive wreath-laying ceremony was held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada in Quetta Cantt here Thursday to mark the 53rd Defence Day of Pakistan. Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal and Commander Southern Command, Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa jointly laid a floral wreath to pay homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the defence of the motherland. Home Minister Saleem Ahmed Khosa, IGFC Major General Nadim Anjum also attended the ceremony.
A special prayer was also offered for all the martyrs.
Addressing the families of the martyrs, Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal said the sacrifice of their loved ones will never be forgotten and the citizens will always remember the supreme sacrifice of those who laid down their lives to ensure the sanctity of the country. The 6th September is an historical day, which reminds us of the precious blood our brave Army officers and soldiers shed while defending the motherland, he said.
The Chief Minister said during last 15 years, Pakistan confronted serious challenges and today peace is restored in Balochistan, FATA and Karachi due to tremendous sacrifices rendered by the country’s armed forces. He said that incumbent government would never forget the families of the martyrs and would provide them with best employment opportunities and education services.
The Chief Minister said that the government is reviewing the compensation payment policy and if possible would also amend it for the welfare of the families of the martyrs.
He said that in the past, no attention was given to good governance due to which public issues remained unresolved. The present government is taking potential steps for good governance in the province, he added.
