ISLAMABAD, May 12 (APP):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday launched the new website of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting “Gateway to way to Pakistan”.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister revealed that it would contain information about all the departments of the ministry and links to world renowned libraries.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said archives of the website would be improved with the passage of time. She said the foreign tourists and students could benefit from the website.
She said the website would also have exhaustive information about national and provincial assemblies, Senate and the constitution of Pakistan.
She said the website had been choreographed keeping in view the difficulties of the foreign visitors. The website would also have details of the Access to Information Bill. She said the rules about that bill would be notified by the next week.
The minister said the summary for the constitution of Information Commission would also be sent to the prime minister.
The website is Pakistan’s gateway to the world and aims to cater to the needs of modern times, providing in-depth useful information to the general public across the globe in a user friendly manner. Online text audio- visual downloadable resources placed on the website provide up to date information, education and entertainment content. It provides deep insight into the national history and literary heritage of Pakistan.
Moreover, social media handles of the ministry and its various departments can also be viewed from the website giving a one window easy access to the visitor.
The website has been developed by the cyber wing of the ministry using its indigenous human and technical resources. The website provides pictorial and video galleries access to an e library and a plethora of useful information making it a substantial repository of knowledge of history culture, literature and tourism of country.
