LAHORE, Oct 22 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad
Shehbaz Sharif has said the land record management information system (LRMIS) is a revolutionary step of the government which has eliminated obsolete Patwar culture.
He was presiding over a meeting through video link
here on Saturday.
He said people were now getting ownership deeds and other
land documents without any bribe or delay.
He issued instructions that immediate steps should be taken
for setting up Land Record Authority and draft of law should be finalized in this regard.
Taking strict notice of giving additional charge to
tehsildars and naib tehsildars in land centers, the chief minister expressed indignation and ordered immediate cancelation of the notification.
The chief minister said the land record management information system was a milestone in ridding people of obsolete system and elimination of Patwar culture and corruption.
He said the Punjab government had completed this splendid
project transparently and people of the province were benefiting from it.
Shehbaz Sharif said he would not tolerate corruption in this mega project.
He directed forensic analysis of facilities being provided
to people under land record management information system.
Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Yawar Zaman, Ayesha
Ghaus Pasha, the chief secretary, chairman Planning & Development and concerned officers participated in the meeting through video link from the Civil Secretariat.
