Lok Virsa pays tribute to Qurban Niazi’s

Two day Kalash language exhibition concludes

ISLAMABAD, Oct 1 (APP): Lok Virsa arranged an folk music evening to pay tribute to the folk singer Qurban Ali Niazi in collaboration with Mausikaar Welfare Trust.

Executive Director Lok Virsa Dr. Fouzia Saeed, officials of Mausikaar Welfare Trust and a good number of people attended the event.

Qurban Ali Niazi started his career with a fresh fervor and zeal, singing like minstrel from village to village and hamlet to hamlet with his Chimta in accompaniment with traditional Dhol.

Born in 1947, he made his debut by singing at Urs of Shah Shams Tabrez in Multan at the tender age of 10.

His association with Radio and Television is four decades old and as a member of Pakistan Cultural Troupe he has performed in the United States, Europe, Far East, Gulf states and India.
