Kashmir an internationally recognized disputed territory: Sartaj

Pakistan announces fresh pledge for Afghanistan at Brussels Conference

ISLAMABAD, Sept 27 (APP): Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Tuesday said that whole world recognized Kashmir as a disputed territory.

The issue was still very much on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council and Pakistan would fully expose India before the international community at that forum, he added.

Talking to media-persons outside the Parliament House here, Sartaj said Pakistan would not be cowed down and would continue to moral, political and diplomatical support to the Kashmiris fighting for their right to self-determination in accordance with the UNSC resolutions.

He said Kashmir was not an integral part of India, rather it was an internationally recognized disputed territory. India must stop human rights violations in occupied the Kashmir and the international community should also play its due role in that regard, he added.

Replying to a question, Sartaj said India’s dream to isolate Pakistan internationally would not be realized. India was threatening to unilaterally abrogate the Indus Water Treaty (IWT) to divert attention from the atrocities being committed by its occupation forces on innocent Kashmiris, he added.

Both the countries, he said, were bound to honour the IWT agreement.
