ISLAMABAD, Sep 7 (APP): Minister for Human Rights Senator
Kamran Michael visited the families affected by the terrorist attack on Christian Colony, Warsak Dam, Peshawar.
He condoled with the mother of Samuel Sardar Masih, the only civilian who lost his life in the attack, according to a press release issued here on Wednesday.
The Senator said that on the auspicious occasion of Defence
Day, “We pay tributes and homage to our national heroes and Samuel is indeed one of them.”
He said that Samuel was the first victim of the terrorist
attack but due to his martyrdom other 160 lives were saved.
The minister said, “We salute to martyrdom of September 6,
1971, who laid their lives for the defence of the country.”
Kamran Michael paid rich tributes to the security personnel
from Police, WAPDA and the Pakistan Army for taking prompt action that saved the lives and properties of the residents of the colony.
Accompanied by MPA Azeem Ghouri, District Member Silas Gill and Ghulam Ali Director Human Rights Regional office, the minister also announced a monetary award for the security personnel and Samuel Masih’s family.
Earlier, Senator Kamran Michael held meeting with Governor KPK Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and discussed with him the security situation in the province.
