ISLAMABAD, Jan 9 (APP): Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani visited Capitol Hill where he met Congressmen Phil Roe and Dan Newhouse.
Matters related to bilateral relations, regional developments and other issues of common interests came up for discussion, said a message received here from Washington.
Ambassador Jilani emphasized that Pak-US cooperation in counter terrorism had been an enabling factor in contributing to Pakistan’s successes against terrorists networks.
The US Congressmen expressed interest in regional developments and agreed on the need for Pakistan and the United States to continue working closely for peace and stability of the entire region, said a message received here Saturday from Pakistan Embassy in Washington, US.
The Congressmen also appreciated sacrifices of Pakistan in fighting extremism and terrorism.
They also exchanged views on other wide-ranging issues including, bilateral economic engagement and cooperation in areas such as agriculture and water conservation.
